about

A collection of songs and instrumentals.

All source sounds (aside from any vocals) come from a Yamaha JR2 acoustic guitar. It's a 3/4-sized instrument.

I've been recording a number of riffs and improvisations, and assorted chord sequences. I then take these, slice them up, and arrange the pieces into songs .

Small guitar pieces.

While I've limited myself to the guitar as source I do go on and manipulate these samples in Renoise (my preferred DAW). I don't have any hard-and-fast restrictions other than to try not to simply make it sound like a basic amped-up electric guitar. Ring modulation gets heavy use.

The goal is to eventually have a set of 10 or so final tracks, a mix of songs and instrumentals.

Track Name: Holiday
A glimpse of sky beneath the shade
The engine roar begins to fade
Where's the room for further care?
What does waiting bring?
Holiday forgives these questions

With other plans delayed
Intention overplayed
The best that better hopes can bring

Within this other world
The circumspect unfurled
Impressions fade and lose their sting

The weather changes on the street.
The still-familiar incomplete
Turn new corners; that seems fair
Insincere at best;
Holiday secures permission

All past and hidden whims unwinding
A study of intention

All past and hidden fears unwinding
The study of consent

Fall past the hidden sins unwinding
A study of retention

All past and sudden whims deciding
The courage to relent

Sure finds of innocence reminding
The courage of convention

Fall past the hidden fears, enlightened
Corroded by percent
Track Name: Fauna
On up the morning
Shadowing the field
The accidental
Perfectly revealed

In sensation
As the moment holds
Now comes ever
Briefer to behold

Absent future
Telling of the norm
What skills inhibit
So they will inform

On up the moment
Bustle of the air
All sensation
Briefer to compare
Track Name: This Climate
This climate sheds a quiet tale
Routine undesigned
The greetings pass as we defend
unaligned
The air seems present in a chill
We decide to wrap
ourselves
instead
Eyes averted

This climate slowly
brings us
a point of view
In turn like knowing
Seamless
This climate surely
changes
What we pursue
This climate changes
stories

The smaller currents still disturb
Patient in the
passing and preserved
Memory fills the time

How do you count what’s unreturned?
Missing from the faces that recur
Memory of our prime

Slowly in the fall
Patient in the seizing
Stories to recall
Seldom to an end

This climate changes
slowly
What we pursue

This climate changes
surely

This climate changes
slowly
Our point of view

This climate changes
stories

This climate changes
surely
Our point of view

This climate changes
slowly
